This 5 day course is specifically designed for the post graduate student who is newly in post and required to survey projects and produce accurate drawings in AutoCAD. The proposed course plan includes:
Day 1 Introduction to AutoCAD
How to approach a project, customise AutoCAD to suit the participants way of working, create & set up layers & views, practice with the main tools, saving files etc
Days 2 & 3 Basic Surveying
how to measure the dimensions of a room/building correctly using the available surveying tools (measuring rod, 30m tape, laser measure, digital camera etc). Participants will be located in a suitable building with different architectural features and will measure as a real time project.
Days 4 & 5 Drawing from their measurements
Using the measurements taken in days 2 & 3, use AutoCAD to create an accurate drawing.
The course will be led by a working architectural technician, whose experience will guide participants in working quickly and efficiently.
